This tutorial was written by me on June 24, 2005 and any resemblance to other tutorials is purely coincidental. You may use this tutorial for personal use only. Do not distribute in other groups, post on a website or send in email without express permission of me, Arleen Williams aka Deltalady. This is done in PSP 8 but could probably be done in other versions. Please DO NOT script my tutorial. For this tutorial you will need: PSP 8 or other version. You can download a demo here. Your will use your own graphic and please make sure it is free to share. You can get the mask here OK…ready? Let's get started! Please be sure to save often. Open a 300x300 transparent layer. Add new raster layer Choose a color for your button. I used a blue gradient for this one. Flood fill your layer. Select the Selection Tool > set at Rounded Rectangle > Feather=0 Go to View > Rulers (this will display the ruler on your graphic but don't worry, when you turn it off it will not save with your image lol Beginning at 30,30 - draw a rectangle to about 297, 200 (you will have marching ants on your layer now). Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Buttonize with the following settings: Go to File > New 300x300 transparent canvas Go to your button image (with ants still marching around the rectangle), Edit>Copy Go back to your new blank canvas and Edit>Paste>Paste as new layer. You can close the original button without saving it now. You may either use a tube or an image for the graphic on your tag. Open your graphic. REMEMBER...we are working on the graphic image now. If your graphic is large, then use the Deformation Tool to resize it to about 202x262. Go to layers > Load/Save Mask > and choose your mask. (I used cdsign_mask008 which is included in the zip file) Use these settings for your mask: Click OK and the mask will be applied to your graphic. On your layer palette, right click on the mask layer, delete and click yes when asked if you want it merged with the image. This is what you should have. Go to Edit > Copy Go to your button image and Edit > Paste > Paste as new layer. This is what you should now have. INCLUDE YOUR SCREENSHOT HERE Layer, new raster layer...rename this layer text. Click on your text tool (A), choose your font and color and type your message or name This should be a Vector layer. Go to layer palette and right click and convert to raster layer. Give your text a drop shadow if you want. Here are the settings I used: 1,1,80,1,black (INCLUDE YOUR SCREENSHOT HERE) Merge > Merge All Flatten You are basically done unless you want to add your mark which is explained below. For your watermark: Layers>New raster layer Text tool Foreground = Null Background = White (unless what you are putting it on is white then choose the gray color) Font = Arial Size = 10 Type in your copyright or watermark info, convert to raster layer. Effects > 3D Effects >Cutout with these settings: 1,1,62,3,black (INCLUDE YOUR SCREENSHOT HERE) Layers>Merge>Merge All Flatten Save as jpg. You are all done!!! I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.
